Too many options? You don’t have to figure it out alone
LVT comes with a lot of choice. Planks, tiles, herringbone, stone looks, wood grains, wear layers, different brands, and plenty of advice online that is not always relevant to your home.
You might be wondering: do we go dryback or click? Do we need smoothing compound? Will it work in the kitchen or hallway? What is the difference between a budget LVT and a premium one, and will it actually hold up?
That’s exactly where we come in. At Grimley Flooring, we help homeowners across East Sussex choose a high quality LVT floor that suits their home, budget, and lifestyle, without confusion.

Choosing the right LVT can feel overwhelming. There are loads of styles and specs, and it’s not always clear what will look best and perform best in your home. We help homeowners across East Sussex choose a quality LVT floor they’ll love living with.

LVT that looks premium and performs in real life
A great LVT floor should do more than look good in a photo. It should feel solid underfoot, handle busy areas, and stay looking sharp for years.
We supply and install a wide range of LVT styles, including:
• Realistic wood effect planks with textured finishes
• Stone and tile effects for kitchens, hallways, and modern spaces
• Herringbone and parquet looks for a more design led finish
• Practical, waterproof options ideal for busy family homes
We hand-pick ranges from trusted manufacturers known for quality and value, so you are not stuck comparing endless products that look similar but perform very differently.
Installed properly, for a finish you can trust
Installed properly, for a finish you can trust
With LVT, the finish is everything. The difference between a floor that looks premium and one that looks slightly off usually comes down to preparation and installation.
We take the time to get the base right, plan the layout properly, and install with clean edges, neat lines, and a well finished look through doorways and across open plan spaces.
If you want that seamless, high end result, this is the part that matters most.

Subfloor prep: the part most people don’t see (but always notice)
LVT only looks as good as what it is installed onto. Any unevenness underneath can show through, affect how it wears, and reduce the overall finish.
We assess your subfloor and carry out preparation work when needed, including smoothing and levelling, so your LVT sits flat, feels stable underfoot, and performs properly over time.
This is often the difference between an average install and a genuinely high end result.
Dryback vs click: what most homeowners need to know
LVT generally comes in two fitting systems.
Dryback, also known as glue down, is installed directly to a properly prepared subfloor. In most homes, this is the option we recommend for improved stability and a cleaner finish. It can also reduce the need for trims and threshold bars, depending on your layout.
Click, also known as floating or SPC, locks together and sits over an underlay. It can be suitable in some situations, but it usually needs more allowance for movement and finishing details at edges.
We recommend dryback LVT for the best possible result. It is more stable, sits beautifully when installed over a properly prepared subfloor, and allows for a cleaner finish through doorways and around room edges, without relying on extra trims.

What is LVT?
LVT is a high-performance, design-led floor made in individual planks or tiles. It is built in layers for strength and comfort, with a protective wear layer on top. It gives you the look of wood, stone or tile with a more forgiving feel underfoot.
Why choose LVT?
It is durable, easy to maintain and a great choice for busy areas where you want a premium look without the stress.
How long does LVT last?
With correct preparation and care, quality LVT can last 15 to 25 years with some products offering a lifetime warranty.
How much does LVT cost?
Around £100 per square metre is a useful starting point, depending on brand and preparation required. We always quote transparently.
How long does fitting take?
Small areas may take one day. Larger projects with preparation may take two to three days.
Do you fit click systems or glue-down?
We specialise in glue-down systems for long-term stability and a cleaner, more seamless finish. Preparation is everything with this type of floor, and that is where a professional installation really pays off.
Why is subfloor preparation so important with LVT?
LVT follows the surface beneath it. If the subfloor is not smooth and stable, imperfections can show through. We prepare the base properly so your floor looks right and stays right.
How do I care for LVT?
Sweep regularly and mop with an LVT-safe cleaner. Avoid steam cleaners and harsh chemicals.
Can LVT be used with underfloor heating?
Most glue-down LVT products are compatible. We confirm suitability during planning.
Can LVT be repaired?
In some cases, individual tiles can be replaced if spares are available.
