Both our complimentary consultation and our site survey offer a high level of service, expertise and guidance, but the key distinction is in the detail and documents you receive. In this article we will explore the differences and provide some examples to help you decide which service is right for you.

At a glance, here is our easy comparison table to see what’s included in each offering.

Why would I pay for the site survey?

The paid for site survey offers several additional features such as measurements and floorplans and is perfect for anyone:

  • Seeking multiple flooring estimates but who doesn’t want to arrange or wait around for multiple contractors.
  • Who doesn’t want to look at multiple estimates of different materials to try and work out which is best.
  • Who wants to order their carpets online but doesn't feel confident on taking their own measurements/planning their own material usage.

As a bonus, should you book with us we will discount the cost of the site survey off the final invoice balance.

Which service is right for you?

Complimentary Consultation

  • I’m just decorating a room or two and want you to supply and install the flooring.
  • I don’t need the floorplans or sizes, I’m happy leaving that to the experts.
  • I don’t need a template email to obtain further estimates, I am confident in comparing quotes.

Paid Site Survey

  • I want the sizes and materials list so I can buy the products online myself.
  • I’m project managing a renovation/build for a client and a single survey will be perfect for my proposal.
  • I want a single specification to easily compare estimates.

*Don’t forget, the cost of the paid site survey is refunded if you go ahead with us for the installation.

Choosing between the complimentary consultation and the paid site survey depends on your specific needs and the level of detail you require for your flooring project.

Both options provide a high level of service and you gain access to our experience, technical skills and guidance, but the paid site survey offers additional features such as receiving the exact measurements, accurate floorplans, and a material quantities list. This makes it ideal for those seeking comprehensive planning and precision in their flooring installation, whereas the complimentary consultation is more suited for simpler projects or those who are comfortable making decisions with less detailed documentation.

Ultimately, the decision should align with your project's complexity, your need for detailed planning, and your budgetary considerations. Investing in the paid site survey can be particularly beneficial for larger or more complex projects, and the cost is discounted from your final invoice when you book with Grimley Flooring.
